Guillotining
Typical workplace materials include aluminium, brass, bronze, stainless and mild steel because of their outstanding shearability ratings.
Guillotining or metal shearing is a process used to cut steel and other metals to size with a shearing action. The material is fed into the guillotine to the correct position for the desired size. When the guillotine is engaged, a hydraulic motor drives the guillotine blade down rapidly to shear off the material.
Guillotine Cutting is a very quick and cost effective process. Stops can be set up and a large volume of material can be cut to size in a short time. CNC guillotine machines are also used for high volume production.
